JOB SUMMARY: Mechanical Bindery Operators are responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machines to produce high-quality bound books and other printed materials. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Machine Setup and Operation: Prepare and set up book binding machines according to job specifications and production schedules. Operate book binding machines to produce books and other printed materials, ensuring high-quality output. 2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Work closely with third-party maintenance and preventative care personnel Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues or malfunctions that may occur during the binding process. 3. Quality Control: Inspect bound books and printed materials for defects and ensure they meet quality standards. Adjust machine settings to correct any issues and maintain consistent quality. 4. Production Management: Monitor production output to meet production goals and deadlines. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects. Assign work and/or assist other personnel working on the machine 5. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Comply with company policies and procedures, including those related to machine operation and maintenance. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Comply with BindTech safety policies and procedures Perform other tasks as assigned SKILLS: Previous experience operating bookbinding machines is highly desired Other bookbinding equipment experience is preferred.
