What You’ll Do

You will manage the firm’s day-to-day billing and accounts receivable processes. You will:

  • Manage the generation of monthly proformas, record adjustments as needed, oversee the generation of final client invoices, and maintain project billing files.
  • Provide Accounting and Finance Management with status updates for receivables and billings; track and monitor accounts receivable and work in process (WIP) and generate and distribute reports to project and senior management.
  • Serve as an escalation point within the billing team to resolve non-routine, complex billing matters.
  • Develop working relationships via phone and emails with client AP counterparts to facilitate the collection of outstanding balances.
  • Escalate outstanding payment issues to senior management and help facilitate payments from clients as needed.
  • Present weekly status of AR and WIP to CFO, Controller, Practice Chairs, and Practice Managers.
  • Engage Practice Managers to follow up on billing or AR-related matters for assigned Practice.
  • Help Project Managers review time and expense records and track project budgets.
  • Send delinquent AR and WIP reminders to Project Leaders.
  • Supervise Billing staff and take responsibility for the function’s workflow and work quality.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • 12 years of progressive experience in an accounting function with a demonstrated understanding of billing and accounts receivable, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Minimum 7 years of management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, handle short deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work successfully with peers and senior management in a highly collaborative culture.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Knowledgeable in automated reporting.
  • May require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.

  • Competitive compensation—the salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. This position is also eligible for bonus compensation on a discretionary basis.
