Current Skillset: MicroStrategy, Tableau, SQL

Updated one: MicroStrategy, SQL or Tableau, SQL. Person should be really really good in SQL

Kindly source as per the expectations, instead of just getting the skill expertise matrix, question their project roles, when n where they used tableau , SQL , how well are they involved into development projects, do they have any certifications, are they willing to learn MSTR, do they have exp in writing complex SQL queries, what about writing query from scratch , are they using any tool for writing SQL queries etc. are they currently working or did they work long ago, how about other BI tools exp, etc.

BI Support Developer-

• Tableau or microstrategy - need strong expertise on one of these tools, and some exposure on the other tool
• Should be strong on sql queries
• Regardless of reporting tool need to have data warehouse experience.
• NP- 30days , Exp- look for 6+yrs since this is for Sr. Associate.
• Skill matrix is needed and check with candts when they last used these skills and mention this on mail before sharing the profile.
• Dossier exp is mandatory, but in case you are not getting profiles with Dossier exp then, pls go ahead with experience on “ tableau, sql, reference of microstrategy”

Position Summary

The Financial Visual Analytics team formed in late 2019 with the goal of transforming Corporate Finance into a modern finance organization, where digital solutions and quantitative methods are employed to generate near-real time actionable financial insights for MassMutual’s business leaders. As the Financial Visual Analytics team has grown over the past 4 years, we seek an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Support Developer to ensure our reporting systems are running smoothly.

The BI Support Developer will collaborate cross-functionally to identify issues and deliver sustainable solutions that meet business needs. Our ideal candidate is a problem solver, an effective communicator, highly organized, and is always driven to learn new skills.

You’ll Be Able To

Business as Usual

• Monitor production support processes and report metrics related to scheduled jobs, data reconciliations, and production data flows
• Triage and resolve issues raised by end users independently and collaboratively with Enterprise Technology and Data Management teams
• Perform adhoc data analyses and provide technical support as necessary
  
  

Continuous Improvement

• Aim to learn the business context of dashboards to better understand customers’ needs and troubleshoot issues
• Continuously enhance and troubleshoot the performance, capabilities, and functionality of BI solutions (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.)
• Identify ways to improve our support processes and existing products
• Adapt to evolving best practices and implement dashboard design standards
• Stay up-to-date on latest technology trends within the BI industry and MassMutual
• Summarize software update changes and proactively identify potential impacts to current products

• Be a thought partner to other Financial Visual Analytics team members for the design, management, and documentation of solutions for new reports and dashboards
• Contribute to the team’s inclusive team environment that emphasizes open communication, knowledge sharing, and timely solution delivery
• Contribute to a team of technically minded individuals working to establish business analytics best practices that drive improved efficiency and decision making across the organization
  
  

Your Experience Includes

• B.S. degree in a quantitative field
• 5+ years of experience with data visualization tools including Tableau and MicroStrategy
• 5+ years of overall experience with focus on delivery of Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated skill in using advanced SQL, stored procedures, and columnar databases (Vertica preferred)
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, especially with individuals with varying technical knowledge
• Documenting technical workflows and specifications
• Ability to seek guidance and learn new skills from peers

• Passion for developing high performance analytical solutions with demonstrated experience in optimizing reporting and visualization architecture
• Interest in dashboard building with a focus on data storytelling and optimizing user experience
• Ability to deliver complex projects using effective planning, pragmatic approaches, and collaboration despite obstacles and ambiguity
• Experience with markup languages such as HTML and CSS
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies such as Jira, Confluence, and Scrum
