We are looking for an experienced Azure SQL Database Administrator to join our team! As a SQL Server Database Administrator you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems

Job Title: Azure SQL Database Administrator

Job Type: Full Time/ Contract

Job Location: Toronto

Responsibilities:

· Plan, configure, maintain, administrate, tune performance of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database

· Provide database space calculations for the supported database environments

· Design and write data loading and/or conversion scripts/stored procedures

· Build and test database backup/recovery scripts

· Build and test database automation scripts

· Prepare database change in DACPAC and develop Azure CI/CD release pipeline to promote DACPAC

· Promote database changes through Development, Integration Testing, QA, UAT, Production environments

· Perform database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning etc.

· Document and resolve any database problems/issues

Skills Required:

· Microsoft SQL Database administration experience

· Expert experience with planning, configuring, maintenance, administration, performance tuning of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database

· Demonstrated experience with DACPAC

· Experience with SQL server stored procedure development

· Experience with Azure build automation using Ansible, Terraform, Packer and VSTS

· Expert experience with git for source code version control, including branching, merging and pull requests

· Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including storage account, file share, Azure key vault, Azure portal, Azure monitoring tools

· Experience with CI/CD release pipeline

Nice to have:

· Oracle Databases. Administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning, OEM etc.
