Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Consultant, Database Management, to provide expert support and management for our Oracle and Azure SQL databases. In this role, you will ensure optimal database performance, troubleshoot issues, and assist in database development, including stored procedures, data migration, and SQL query optimization. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for both production and non-production databases, ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide production application support for Oracle and Azure SQL databases, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure scalability and optimal database performance.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain stored procedures, SQL queries, and data load/migration scripts.
• Collaborate with application teams to resolve database-related issues and improve efficiency.
• Perform database monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices in both production and non-production environments.
• Assist in database upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
• Document database processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle and Azure SQL database administration and development.
• Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and complex SQL queries.
• Experience with data migration, ETL processes, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
• Knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
