KEY TASKS
Support production by troubleshooting and programming
plant automation
Program and design PLC controls for new equipment
Manage new automation projects as necessary
Collect and organize automation data as necessary
Wire industrial control systems, including 480V/120V/24V
power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors
Design, diagnose, and troubleshoot vision applications. .
Direct and educate electricians and other personnel with the
programming and troubleshooting of relevant systems and
programs as required
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant technical
field required
Years of Experience:
3+ years of experience designing and programming
industrial control systems
Other Requirements:
Regular and predictable attendance required
Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and
responsibilities
Overtime may be required as work load or projects
dictate, including weekends and holidays
Capable of using various types of software, including
Ultraware, DriveExployer, RSNetWorx, RSView Studio,
and PanelBuilder
Understanding of PLC’s and networking, including ladder
logic programming, PLC 5, SLC500, ControlLogix,
MicroLogix, RIO, Ethernet/P, Ethernet cabling and
addressing, wireless PC networking, and DeviceNet
Understanding of motors and drives, including AC and DC
motors, servo systems, Kinetix, Ultra3000, PowerFlex,
1305, and 1338 drives
Understanding of MMI’s, including basic concepts,
PanelView Plus, and PanelView hardware
Understanding of Vision Systems, including Cognex InSight software
Basic understanding of robotics, including Fanuc and ABB
robot operations, basic TP, Karel, ABB programming, and
I/O interfacing
Experience with Siemens S7 programming, DVT FrameWork, and visLOC software a plus
KEY COMPETENCIES
Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office
Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
Excellent Analytical Skills
Ability to connect to PLC and navigate programming
software
Effective ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment and
read electrical prints
