Job Summary:

The Authorization Specialist’s primary responsibility is attaining authorization for therapy services provided by Circle of Care.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining authorizations for Home Health therapy services.
• Effectively tracking authorizations to ensure services are not furnished without authorization.
• Effectively communicating information between multiple agencies, insurance companies, patient family and clinicians
• Documenting clear follow up with insurance company, physicians, patient family, and Circle of Care therapists
• Data entering patient information
• Maintaining excel spreadsheet(s)
• Other tasks as assigned
  
  

Requirements

Skill Requirements:

• Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)
• Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office; Excel; Outlook, and teams
• Ability to learn to use our agency software for electronic medical records
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of medical and community individuals
• Ability to communicate effectively with the patient’s family, physicians, clinical field staff and other employees of the organization
  
  

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
  
  

Experience

• At least one year of experience in a customer service role.
