About the team
Core Accounting supports the business to create, validate and interpret its financial results to understand whether we are on track to meet our strategic objectives. Our understanding of business operations and products are integral to producing relevant financial information.
Working closely with the finance business partnering teams we interpret budgets and performance trends to measure and report on business performance.
We’re accountable for legal entity governance, operation of monthly processes and controls (including balance sheet reconciliations) and managing external audit requirements. Using our expertise as finance professionals, we pride ourselves on an environment of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities in the role:
Accountability, Ownership, Authority
• As an accountant training for an accredited qualification, you will input to the record to report processes and preparation of month end results, including P&l analysis and commentary.
• You will specialise in a product area and support analysis and review.
• You will produce balance sheet reconciliations and upload these into bespoke Floqast software.
• We will expect you to develop an understanding for accounting standards such as IFRS15 / IFRS16.
• You will collaborate with the team on areas of process improvement.
• Manipulate large volumes of data through a combination of specialist finance applications and excel.
• Follows the governance framework of accounting standards, policies, procedures and processes through documentation and application, seeking guidance and specialist expertise where required.
• Investigates and responds to ad hoc queries promptly and supply with articulate communication and provide analysis for internal and external auditors.
