Summary

Our client is seeking a hands-on Application Support Engineer with a strong background in AWS, system monitoring, and day-to-day technical operations. This role is critical to maintaining application stability, ensuring rapid issue resolution, and improving support team bandwidth through consistent, proactive monitoring and incident management. You'll work across customer-facing systems and partner closely with internal engineering and product teams.


What You’ll Do:

  • Respond to escalated production support issues, system events, and alerts (xMatters, automated monitoring, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer-facing application issues—especially financial account systems
  • Monitor applications using tools like Grafana, New Relic, and Splunk
  • Validate systems post-deployments and during scheduled maintenance windows
  • Own incident management lifecycle: triage, root cause analysis, coordination with partner teams, and resolution
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation and monitoring configurations
  • Participate in on-call rotation; expected to be self-sufficient once onboarded


What You Bring:

  • Experience supporting AWS-hosted applications (EC2, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Proficient in SQL and log analysis using Splunk
  • Background in Java-based applications and cloud-native development
  • Familiarity with front-end production environments and customer-facing systems
  • Strong grasp of system health monitoring tools like Grafana, New Relic, and (bonus) Wiley
  • Previous on-call experience in a production support environment
