Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Application Support Engineer Contractor to join our Technical Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting critical applications, ensuring smooth release deployments, troubleshooting complex issues, and maintaining operational excellence. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and strong communication.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, support, and troubleshoot production applications to ensure high availability and performance
Use Control-M and other orchestration tools to monitor and manage workflow processes effectively
Operate and manage integrations using the Snaplogic platform (low code/no code) as part of day-to-day operations
Work with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems to track incidents, requests, and changes
Manage and follow change management workflows for safe and compliant release deployments
Write and troubleshoot SQL queries to identify and resolve data-related issues
Utilize Linux to investigate application and system-level issues
Apply knowledge of Terraform in AWS cloud environments for infrastructure as code
Collaborate with development teams to implement and optimize modern observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, or DataDog for application monitoring and alerting
Frequently participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends, to resolve production issues promptly
Skills You Bring:
Strong experience with SQL for querying and troubleshooting data-related problems
Experience with Control-M or similar orchestration tools to monitor workflows
Proficiency in Linux for command-line operations and log analysis
Familiarity with ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing systems
Proficiency in Git for version control and collaboration
Hands-on experience with Jenkins pipeline configuration and management
Knowledge of Terraform and AWS cloud infrastructure
Expertise in monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or DataDog
Understanding of financial services applications and terminology (preferred)
Familiarity with Snaplogic or similar low code/no code integration platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels
Schedule and Flexibility
Shift begins at 11:00 AM, ensuring coverage into later hours
On-call rotations, including weekends, are a frequent requirement, flexibility is essential
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in financial institutions or with financial applications
Knowledge of operational best practices in regulated environments
