Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. In this role, you will manage various billing and accounting tasks, including preparing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organizational skills and a passion for numbers to contribute to a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process itemized statements, bills, and invoices for purchases or services rendered.
- Reconcile batch control totals with source documents or computer listings to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Accurately record and post receipts from cash received by multiple departments.
- Maintain financial records by performing bookkeeping tasks such as posting data and tracking costs and shipments.
- Compile data and compute charges or fees for billing purposes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to company policies and accounting regulations.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and performing ad hoc financial tasks as needed.
- Handle photocopying, scanning, and organizing documents to maintain accurate records and streamline processes.
- Utilize accounting software and tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to complete tasks efficiently.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; an associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in financial or accounting roles, with a focus on accounts payable or billing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, federal and state regulations, and company policies.
- Capability to apply mathematical and analytical skills to solve problems and ensure accuracy.
- Previous experience with bookkeeping, payroll, and cash activity reconciliation is a plus.
