Salary: $22.00 to $25.00 hourly

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Edina, Minnesota. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, and supporting financial operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in corporate accounting within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Upload accounts payable invoices daily, ensuring they are routed to the correct approvers and following up for timely approvals.
• Review employee credit card transactions weekly to verify accuracy and timely completion.
• Prepare weekly payment proposals for suppliers based on vendor terms and submit them for internal approval.
• Set up new supplier accounts, including collecting W-9 forms and determining 1099 status when applicable.
• Process and manage daily cash receipt applications and electronic bank deposits.
• Establish new customer accounts by conducting credit checks, collecting references, and setting appropriate credit limits.
• Maintain and update tax certificates in the Vertex system for both new and existing customers.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable email inboxes daily to address inquiries promptly.
• Assist with additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Solid understanding of general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with accounts payable, invoice processing, and cash applications.
• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with tax certificate management and credit checks is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
