General Summary:
The Tissue Segment Account Manager is the “go to” person in the assigned territory; provides the direct leadership that includes business strategy, technical support, territory development, sales plans and vision for the future. This position will have close customer relationships that will range from engineers, machine personnel, and top operations leadership and will be a key member of the Tissue Team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager, Area Representatives and Technical Managers to develop and implement the strategic plan for the territory that dovetails into long range sales and marketing strategies for the business. This work will include establishing appropriate expectations and performance metrics for the territory.
- Coordinate with the Tissue Solutions manager in the sales territory to deploy holistic solutions employing advanced data analytics, process modeling, soft sensor technology, and a suite of unique BTG sensory platforms measuring the tissue process.
- Participate in company technical training programs.
- Participate in company meetings to discuss, fine-tune, and help create strategic plans.
- Effectively support accounts and customer relationships, leveraging company resources to accomplish stated goals.
- Assist in developing on-going forecasts.
- Develop and enhance relationships with key customer personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and future industry trends.
- Participate in industry trade association activities.
- Effectively communicate and report internally to ensure proper technical service and efforts are in sync with sales leadership.
- Responsible for own personal safety, the safety of the team and those around you.
- Work in accordance with and enforce compliance with all BTG policies (ex: Safety, Code of Conduct, Commercial Policy, Security Policy and Export Compliance) to maintain BTG reputation and image.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- The ability to demonstrate knowledge and credibility at the customer level is essential. Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, vision to solve the problems is key.
- Must be a “people person” – one who enjoys engaging the customer, who enjoys traveling and is excellent in communication and follow-up. This is an individual contributing role within a team context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy; prioritize, organize and work independently.
- Flexible and able to travel 75% of the time.
- Excellent computer skills, strong knowledge of MS Office.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally a technical degree (ME, ChemE, Pulp and Paper Science, etc.) or equivalent Tissue manufacturing experience.
