Role Responsibilities

• Design and develop Ab Initio applications for various data processing requirements.
• Create and maintain ETL jobs and workflows to ensure effective data integration.
• Collaborate with data architects and other stakeholders to define data structures.
• Perform performance tuning of existing Ab Initio applications.
• Debug and troubleshoot ETL processes to resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor job execution and ensure data quality and consistency.
• Implement data validation and transformation rules as needed.
• Work with business analysts to understand data requirements and specifications.
• Document design specifications and technical processes for future reference.
• Support application deployments and provide post-deployment support.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and Ab Initio features.
• Facilitate training sessions for junior developers as required.
• Collaborate with team members to improve overall project delivery.
• Provide estimations and timelines for assigned tasks and projects.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Ab Initio development.
• Strong understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts.
• Proficient in SQL and able to perform complex database queries.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience in data modeling and database design.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and architecture.
• Knowledge of performance tuning techniques for ETL processes.
• Ability to write automated scripts using Unix shell scripting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Familiarity with reporting tools would be an advantage.
