Job Title: Youth Development Coordinator
Location: Syracuse Office 627 West Genesee Street
Salary: $23.77 $25.00 Hourly
Classification: Non-Exempt, full-time, thirty-five-hour (35.0) week; occasional evenings and weekends required for meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.

- At least 2 years experience delivering stigma-free, non-judgmental and culturally responsive services to diverse populations.
- Access to a reliable automobile with insurance and a valid NYS drivers license that will pass DMV screening is required for travel.
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours Monday-Friday, and occasional weekend hours.
- Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, chronic illness, substance use and LGBTQ issues and a strong commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Values of ACR Health.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the facilitation of activities for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13-18 designed to increase self-efficacy and independent living skills; reduce social isolation and increase social supports; increase awareness of LGBTQ-affirming providers; promote health and wellness utilizing a risk-reduction/harm-reduction/sex positive approach; and cultivate pride and leadership skills.
- Encourage youth participation in program activities and form healthy relationships with youth by being a positive adult role model and mentor, greeting and introducing new members, assisting youth with intake packets, and providing oversight to ensure all youth are treated fairly.
- Assess group dynamics and collaborate with the LGBTQ Program Manager and Program Coordinators to create activities for desired outcomes.
- Foster collaboration and leadership among LGBTQ+ youth through activities that promote teamwork and encouraging participants to actively pursue responsibility.
- Complete necessary paperwork including Group Summary Forms, Attendance Logs, Ride Logs, and Incident Reports as required.
- Conduct ongoing assessments with youth, as required by funders, and report findings to LGBTQ Program Manager on a quarterly basis.
- Provide crisis intervention for youth and families and make referrals to internal and external programs/services as needed.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with school based mental health support in Onondaga County.
- Develop quarterly social media campaign and education to decrease stigma around mental health, suicide awareness and prevention, and accessing community resources.
- Assist in providing LGBTQ+ cultural responsiveness and competence workshops.
- Develop mental health resource of area providers who are youth focused and LGBTQ+ affirming.
- Perform outreach to increase awareness of Q Center programs and activities.
- Maintain accurate client and service records in accordance with the Youth & Family Services Departments policy and procedures.
- Participate in department and agency case conferences, including Grand Rounds.
- Assist Family Peer Advocate in youth/family linkage and navigation.
- Prepare all required monthly and program reports as assigned, and ensure thorough, up to date and complete client records.
- Complete/submit all required documentation within designated time frames.
