SUMMARY:
Under general direction, ensures timely processing of workers’ compensation claims; evaluates incident reports to determine accuracy and completeness; ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations; completes OSHA logs; provides guidance to employees and all departments. 3-5 years of workers’ compensation handling experience required.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.
1. Evaluate incident reports for accuracy and completeness. Complete internal injury/incident investigations.
2. Enter incident reports into the Succeed Risk Management Center online portal for submission to the third-party administrator.
3. Provide medical documentation on injured workers to the third-party administrator and Company supervisors to ensure everyone is current on medical and work status; maintain and update employee’s workers’ compensation injury status; maintain and update workers’ compensation files.
4. Engage employees in the interactive process and arrange accommodations based on the injured employee’s Work Status Report.
5. Assist in maintaining a tracking system to enable compliance with OSHA record keeping and annual filing requirements.
6. Work with adjusters, legal counsel, and internal employees and supervisors on claim status updates, return work coordination, and general claim handling oversight.
7. Handle and address all workers’ compensation subpoenas in a timely manner which includes pulling personnel records from our payroll / documentation system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Act and other applicable federal and state statutes and regulations. Multi-State jurisdictional knowledge a plus.
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.), Succeed Risk Management Center, Salesforce, and Paycom.
3. Working knowledge of HR procedures and files.
4. Ability to obtain facts that assure incident reports are accurate and complete; efficiently process claims; and balance casework loads.
5. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
6. Ability to record data to reflect workers’ compensation metrics.
7. Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, employees, and officials; ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information; ability to understand and follow instructions.
8. Knowledge of other insurance lines such as auto and general helpful but not required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle and feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
Position type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
