Job Summary

OrthoLA is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of workers' compensation processes and regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the workers' compensation process for injured employees, from initial claim submission to case resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, insurance adjusters, and legal representatives regarding workers' compensation claims.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation, including medical reports, claim forms, and billing information.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to gather necessary medical information and documentation for claims.
  • Monitor the status of open claims and follow up as necessary to facilitate timely approvals and payments.
  • Maintain detailed records of all communications and interactions related to workers' compensation claims.
  • Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Assist with billing inquiries and provide support to the billing department as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and practice management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in workers' compensation coordination or a related role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
