Job Summary
OrthoLA is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of workers' compensation processes and regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate all aspects of the workers' compensation process for injured employees, from initial claim submission to case resolution.
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, insurance adjusters, and legal representatives regarding workers' compensation claims.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation, including medical reports, claim forms, and billing information.
Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to gather necessary medical information and documentation for claims.
Monitor the status of open claims and follow up as necessary to facilitate timely approvals and payments.
Maintain detailed records of all communications and interactions related to workers' compensation claims.
Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
Assist with billing inquiries and provide support to the billing department as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedures.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and practice management software.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in workers' compensation coordination or a related role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
