Qualifications:
Ø High school graduate or equivalent GED.
Ø A minimum of one year’s experience in workers’ compensation is highly preferred.
Ø Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
Ø Must demonstrate tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
Ø Well organized, ability to multi-task, self-motivated and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Ø Fundamental knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance legal and regulatory environment is required.
Ø Advanced level of computer skills required, including electronic medical records, fax servers, internet, spreadsheets, and Word/Excel
Ø Ability to responsibly handle and maintain confidential information.
Responsibilities:
Ø Interact effectively with providers, peers, patients, family members and vendors.
Ø Assists patients, assembles chart information, and schedules patient appointments.
Ø Competently and accurately obtains patient information, completes data entry, and completes registration processes.
Ø Quickly and efficiently responds to patient, employer, case manager, and adjuster inquires and requests.
Ø Works closely with adjusters and employers to make sure all provider documentation is received and sent in a timely manner
Ø Collect, maintain, update, and document all relevant information for the treatment of patients and payment of workers’ compensation claims.
Ø Verifies and documents approvals and faxes, and routes information as appropriate.
Ø Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or physician.
