The Kite Cafe is a beachside cafe at Golden Gardens. As a Cafe Staff Member at The Kite Cafe, you will be the face of our establishment, engaging with customers and patrons of Golden Gardens. Your primary role will be to ensure that every guest receives great service. Cafe staff members will rotate between barista / beverage, sandwich and food prep, and taking customer orders. Key Responsibilities: Welcome and interact with customers in a warm and friendly manner. Take orders for food and beverages with accuracy and efficiency. Prepare and serve a variety of cafe offerings including sandwiches, salads, and coffee. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained at all times. Handle cash and card transactions. Assist in the preparation of food items and maintaining inventory. Work closely with team members to manage busy periods or special events. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience working back of house preferred, but not essential Previous experience as a barista preferred, but not essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A friendly and outgoing personality. Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene practices. Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays. Want-to attitude with willingness to learn new things Knowledge of basic recipes, ingredients, and preparation methods Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to stand for long periods of time The right fit for this role will have past experience with opening or closing duties for a café or similar establishment.
