WordPress/WooCommerce full-stack or back-end developer with 4+ years of experience within plugin development and complex client solutions.

For our Chiang Mai Office, we are looking for a skilled full stack or back-end developer with lots of WordPress and WooCommerce experience to support and further develop solutions for our mainly Danish clients. You will be part of our highly competent development office in Chiang Mai where you will join both Thai and international colleagues. 

We require a minimum of 4 years of experience in WordPress and WooCommerce backend development, including custom plugin development. In-depth understanding of WordPress architecture, including themes, plugins, hooks, and filters. Proven experience in developing and customizing WooCommerce plugins.

We offer a very flexible working environment where you can work from home two-three days a week. You will have three weeks of paid vacation per year plus all national Thai holidays.

Responsibilities

• Programming of WooCommerce modules and developing WordPress/WooCommerce solutions for our clients in Europe
• Contributing to solution architecture and project estimation
• Using modern frameworks to the fullest to optimize client solutions
• Working efficient in a team 
• Testing your own work before delivering to Quality Assurance team
• Reporting and updating items in project management tools
• Cooperating with Project Management to ensure prescribed solutions match client requirements and expectations

Qualifications (not mandatory but important to check off many of these)

Tool Handling

●      Docker Compose.

●      WSL (Ubuntu) on Windows or Homebrew + Native Terminal on macOS.

●      Git / GitHub for version control & collaboration.

●      SVN for version control (legacy or WordPress plugin repo).

●      Composer for PHP dependency management.

●      WP-CLI for command-line operations.

●      Gulp and Vite for asset bundling and task automation.

●      PHPUnit for unit testing.

Programming Languages & Tech Stack

●      PHP (Object-Oriented Programming, WordPress Plugin Development).

●      JavaScript (including ES6+, jQuery, AJAX).

●      TypeScript (used with Vite and React).

●      Some understanding of front end HTML5, SCSS/CSS.

●      MySQL / MariaDB.

Frameworks & Libraries

●      React.js (for custom frontend components within WordPress).

●      WordPress Core & WooCommerce APIs.

●      jQuery (for legacy or plugin-related interactions).

●      Vite (Use for bundling files e.g. React, TypeScript)

Coding Standards & Testing

●      Familiar with WordPress Coding Standards (PHP, JavaScript, CSS).

●      Adheres to PSR-12 PHP coding standards.

●      Uses ESLint and Prettier for JavaScript/TypeScript linting and formatting.

●      Experience with PHPUnit for unit testing.

●      Knowledge of integration testing for WooCommerce plugins.

●      Proficient in debugging with Xdebug and browser developer tools.

WordPress-Specific Expertise

●      Skilled in developing and editing WordPress themes and plugins.

●      Experienced with WordPress action and filter hooks, including WooCommerce-specific hooks.

●      Solid understanding of WordPress database schema and meta tables.

●      Familiar with WooCommerce order, product, and subscription systems.

●      Knowledgeable in localization using translation functions (e.g., __(), _e()).

 Build & Deployment

●      Experience with CI/CD pipelines for WordPress plugin deployment.

Ability to package plugins for distribution (e.g., .zip files within build/ directory).

API Integration

●      Experience working with REST APIs

Language skills 

Thai: Fluent speaking, reading and writing

English: Speaking, reading, writing on acceptable level so it´s efficient for the rest of the company when communicating.

Education 

Min. bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar.
