Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Wireless Network Engineer to join our engineering lab team supporting Wi-Fi customer premise equipment (CPE) validation. This role requires strong experience with Wi-Fi protocols, hardware testing, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced lab environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in networking, strong logical troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with Linux command line. This is an on-site role, requiring close collaboration with hardware and automation teams.
Responsibilities:
* Wireless Network Engineer will conduct validation and testing of Wi-Fi CPE devices in a lab environment
* Utilize a variety of test equipment and methodologies to evaluate performance, stability, and standards compliance
* Analyze test results and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, firmware, and connectivity
* Execute test plans using the 802.11 standard and network protocols
* Log defects, provide detailed documentation, and support root cause analysis
* As a Wireless Network Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, automation, and vendor partners
* Support handoff of test cases and results to automation teams when applicable
* Maintain lab test setups and support Over-the-Air and Conducted test topologies* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred
* 5+ years of experience in Wi-Fi, networking, or hardware testing in a lab environment
* Strong understanding of the 802.11 standard and Wi-Fi technology fundamentals
* Proficient in using Linux/Unix command line for basic operations and testing workflows
* Strong troubleshooting skills with an analytical and detail-oriented approach
* Familiarity with basic networking concepts and protocols (CompTIA Network+ level or equivalent)
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site lab environment
Preferred:
* Certifications such as CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) or CWS (Certified Wireless Specialist)
* Experience with MSOs (Multiple System Operators), chipset vendors, or Wi-Fi hardware suppliers
* Familiarity with test tools such as Ixia, Spirent, Octobox, and Rohde & Schwarz
* Experience with Conducted and Over-the-Air (OTA) test topologies
* Scripting knowledge in Python for prototyping or test automation handoff
