Overview


The Windows Server Platform Engineer is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and maintaining complex enterprise environments for large-scale organizations. This role involves deploying, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability of Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, and hybrid cloud infrastructures. The Engineer will play a crucial role in assisting customers with best practices, system performance tuning, and seamless integration of on-premises and cloud-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities


Technical Support & Optimization


  • Act as a primary technical contact, providing customers with advanced support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Conduct in-depth product reviews, risk assessments, and system performance evaluations to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Perform post-implementation reviews of server deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities in enterprise environments.


Deployment & Infrastructure Management


  • Lead Windows Server (2012 R2-2025) deployments, configurations, and optimizations in enterprise environments.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, Azure VMware Services, Azure Stack HCI).
  • Ensure smooth operation and automation of patch management, Windows updates, and failover clustering.
  • Support hybrid infrastructures, integrating on-premises and cloud-based solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing


    • Deliver technical workshops, whiteboard sessions, and best practice discussions to educate customers on Windows Server and related technologies.
    • Provide internal and external training on PowerShell scripting, automation, and system monitoring tools.
    • Document technical findings, troubleshooting guides, and configuration standards for knowledge sharing.
  • Security & Compliance


    • Implement and troubleshoot Windows security features, including Secure Boot, Windows Defender, TPM, and identity management solutions.
    • Apply best practices for Active Directory management, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (GPO), and security hardening.
    • Conduct risk assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with enterprise IT policies and industry standards.



    Key Competencies & Required Experience


    • Windows Server Expertise – Advanced proficiency in Windows Server (2012 R2-2025), including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
    • Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure – Hands-on experience with Hyper-V, VMware, Azure VMware Services, and Azure Stack HCI.
    • PowerShell & Automation – Strong skills in PowerShell scripting, Desired State Configuration (DSC), and automation for system management.
    • Networking & Security – Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, Windows Defender, and security best practices.
    • Systems Performance & Debugging – Experience in Windows performance monitoring, kernel debugging, and troubleshooting system crashes (Perfmon, WPA, Blue Screen debugging).
    • Hybrid Infrastructure Management – Experience in integrating on-premises systems with cloud-based solutions.
    • 4+ years of experience in Systems Architecture, Administration, IT Consulting, or Enterprise IT Support.


    Industry certifications (preferred) – Advanced Microsoft certifications in Windows Server, Azure, or related fields.
