At our Stratford Facility we fabricate and assemble components for heavy truck, defense and off-road equipment companies. We feature fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, assembly departments and manufacture everything from small components to large structures, sheet metal to heavy plate.
Position Summary:
As a Welder Fitter, the incumbent is responsible to Weld and Finish specific components from detailed schematics or blueprints and materials to meet customer requirements and specifications.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Weld, Fit, and Finish all assigned orders with accuracy.
Perform tacking, and burning duties as required.
Work independently or as a team member.
Work from complex drawings; perform all layouts, fitting, and assembly of intricate fabrications and parts.
Ensure all parts are prefabricated correctly to meet customer specifications and fit as required, keeping in mind consumables and tolerances.
Exhibit knowledge, skills, and ability to make weldments with or without prefabricated parts.
Work in a safe manner by following all Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures.
Perform other duties as defined and assigned by the department supervisor, or lead hand.
Comply and perform all duties with the organizational set of standards.
Initiate and continually strive for maximum production efficiency and attention to detail.
Perform layout and fit-up checks.
Document and complete ITP reports
Maintain a clean and organized working area.
Upon completion of assigned work ensure adequate clean-up and inspection of all weldments and fabricated parts as required.
Education & Experience & Qualifications
Highschool Education or Equivalent or years of experience combined with education, designations, and certification.
Weld Mig- Ticketed (CWB, AWS)
Strong Math Skills: ability to apply measuring and test equipment required for the job.
Welding ability must meet accurate and detailed work requirements and guidelines.
Ability to operate torch cutting, grinding equipment, and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
Ability to pass all weld tests including AWS Weld Test (Flat/Horizontal Fillets & Groove) on a variety of selected materials.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, schematic designs and application and weld symbols.
Advance Fitting- Gather/Fit/ Verify/ Weld.
Multipass Welding- Advanced up to 2.5”
Measure and Check to Print- Advanced- Full inspection.
Crane/Rotational Positioner and other lifting equipment (Preferred)
