SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Web Development & Digital Marketing Lead, you will continually develop, maintain and improve digital media assets including global websites, web-based communications and video production to support marketing and information technology and other stakeholders. The incumbent provides technical leadership about websites and digital tools, is an effective communicator and can evaluate, select and manage third party providers of digital marketing tools.


What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)


While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Design and develop primarily WordPress-based and content-driven websites, regularly updating content to support various initiatives and UTM-tracked ad campaigns.
  • Maintain complex or large-scale web pages and web applications that are reliable and accessible and support the organization's digital growth strategies.
  • Assist IT with web applications: code, test, debug, document and implement web applications using a variety of languages and platforms such as HTML, Java and others.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy to navigate user interfaces (UI) that consist of web pages with graphics, icons and color schemes that are visually appealing.
  • Understand content management systems, front and backend interfaces and search engine optimization (SEO) to drive website performance and best practices.
  • Continually monitor website SEO, performance, and health using Google Analytics and other tools; recommend and apply revisions; track improvements and results.
  • Identify and manage third party providers of digital marketing applications including websites, e-commerce, photography and videography.
  • Participates in project leadership and/or program planning including providing technical input to product development plans and concept documents
  • Produce photography, videography and animation, develop scripts, and edit material for use in educational and sales tools.



What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:


Required Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in a relevant field, such as website information architecture and/or user experience design, interactivity, and development
  • 4+ years of experience presenting solutions to clients and management
  • Experience converting finished page compositions into server-ready production files
  • Familiarity with streaming media concepts and techniques, including digital video and audio compression standards and responsive web design techniques
  • Working skills to use and manage internet technologies (databases, e-commerce, client-server, and front end technologies)
  • Specialized training in coding for web standards that meet or exceed latest requirements
  • Thorough understanding of image optimization techniques for web graphics
  • Solid grasp of web design constraints such as resolution and color pallet limitations, page weight, browser and plug-in capabilities, and typography
  • Strong ability to address and advocate for end-users’ experience


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 3D animation and rendering experience a plus
  • Video experience strongly preferred
  • Capacity for strategic, conceptual, associative and logical thinking
  • Ability to create conceptual designs and strategic supporting documentation
  • Strong web development, graphic design and creative capabilities


Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
