The Opportunity
Reporting to the Lead Web Developer, the Web Developer will be responsible for the development of new features, improvements, and fixes to the Scott Dunn website. This will involve interpreting business requirements and building them into working solutions, and delivering and reviewing code, which is well-tested, error free, and of the highest quality, as well as releasing these exciting improvements to our website visitors.
As a member of a multidisciplinary and agile team, you will bring web development experience and an ability and motivation to work at an enterprise level where you are trusted to make important decisions and play a real part in the transformation and delivery of our digital guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Understand and practice coding standards and adhering to these
- Engage with stakeholders when required to further detail initial requirements
- Deliver code which is well tested and consistently error free
- Reviewing user stories and defining acceptance tests
- Code review and support other team member’s work
- Keep up to date with the latest software development technologies and methodologies
- Interpret business requirements and build them into working solutions
- Planning and coordinating UAT activities
- Identify opportunities to further improve the website user experience
Requirements
Essential
- Experience and sizable knowledge of C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Good knowledge of ASP .Net framework
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Good understanding of back-end integrations and API development
- Strong understating of relational databases such as SQL
- DevOps / Git / Jira
- Automation experience for web apps
- Good understanding of agile & other testing methodologies
- Good understanding of Web Performance and Optimisation
- Basic understanding and knowledge of SEO
- Sitecore or other CMS experience
Desirable
- Understanding of Apache Solr
- Azure Cloud knowledge
- React
