Position Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Water Structure Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and analyzing hydraulic structures such as dams, spillways, culverts, canals, pipelines, and flood protection systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation in hydrology, hydraulics, and structural engineering, with a focus on delivering innovative, safe, and sustainable water infrastructure solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze water-related structures using industry-standard software (e.g., HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP2000, Revit, STAAD.Pro).
  • Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, design reports, and construction documentation.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for drainage systems, channels, stormwater management, and flood control projects.
  • Perform site investigations and assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental engineers, geotechnical engineers, and construction managers.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and permitting requirements.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including review of submittals and responding to RFIs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in water resources and structural design.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license [or working toward licensure].
  • 5+ years of experience in water structure design or similar projects.
  • Proficiency in design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, SWMM, Revit, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and structural engineering principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
