Job Description
Tomo Engineering is hiring a Water Resources Project Engineer your responsibilities will include design and management of assigned projects, including, but not limited to drainage studies, design, layout and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems for linear transportation projects, hydraulic flood studies, stormwater management, and sedimentation and erosion control design.
Responsibilities:
Designing and analyzing storm drainage features, Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) and Sediment and Erosion Control Best Management Practices (BMPs)
Preparing environmental permit drawings and construction plans and specifications
Utilize HEC-RAS software for FEMA floodplain analysis and compliance
Utilize MicroStation and GEOPAK design software
Manage and prioritize simultaneous tasks/projects
Able to communicate technical information and coordinate with other design disciplines
Requirements:
Working knowledge of basic hydrologic and hydraulics principles
8+ years of experience within the stormwater infrastructure and/or drainage engineering design
industry
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
Has a Professional Engineer license (PE)
Previous experience with the NCDOT preferred
Working knowledge of MicroStation, OpenRoads and/or AutoCad; Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
