We are seeking an
Instrumentation Integration Engineer to join our
Water Quality Instrumentation Team. The successful candidate will have a background in engineering and system analysis and thrive in a complex, rapidly changing work environment. This position will be part of a team that works with business experts, manufacturing personnel, scientists, software and hardware engineers to maintain existing hardware and design new diagnostic systems. In addition to strong systems thinking and technical analysis skills, experience in operations, manufacturing, and managing supply chains and quality processes in an ISO 9001 environment is essential. Familiarity with electrical safety, testing, and compliance is a valuable asset.
What will you do?
- Lead product development from a “complete system” standpoint, evaluating Break down complex systems into functional components, ensuring requirements traceability and adequate design margin.
- Drive verification and validation activities, defining measurable standards and confirming system performance.
- Manage system-level development from concept through launch, ensuring alignment across scientific, engineering, manufacturing, and business functions.
- Support operational readiness by aligning product design with manufacturing capabilities and quality systems.
- Collaborate with supply chain and quality teams to ensure robust procurement and inspection processes.
- Lead technical sub-teams and investigations to resolve issues and continuously improve product performance.
- Follow best practices for design, documentation, and verification in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 7–10 years of experience, or MS with 5–7 years.
- Experience in manufacturing, operations, and supply chain management within an ISO 9001 environment.
- Ability to integrate diverse scientific and engineering requirements into cohesive system architectures.
- Proven experience in cross-functional teams developing complex electro-mechanical instruments.
- Strong skills in requirement synthesis, planning, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in analyzing test data, identifying failure modes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and system evolution.
- Familiarity with software concepts and basic scripting/programming.
- Working knowledge of tools such as SAP, MS Project, MATLAB, and CAD based software as required.
- Experience operating in a matrix environment with key decision makers located in the United States.
- Experience directing/managing people and providing mentorship for junior technical staff.
- Solid business acumen (i.e. not simply a technical expert).
- Demonstrated ability to embrace change and adapt to shifting business priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to self-direct and reprioritize tasks to focus on business critical technical assignments.
