Title: Water Distribution Operations Manager

Location: Salisbury, NC

Salary: $65k-$95k + benefits + sign on bonus$

Requirements: 5+ years in water utilities operations

Position Overview

The Water Distribution Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the municipal water distribution system, ensuring the efficient delivery of water services to the community while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the water distribution system, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Supervise and train staff in the operation of water distribution equipment and procedures.
• Develop and implement strategies for improving water distribution efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to water distribution and wastewater management.
• Respond to emergencies related to water distribution, including main breaks and service interruptions.
• Collaborate with other departments and agencies on water quality and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct regular inspections of water distribution facilities and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, Associates with ample professional experience can be considered
• 5+ years experience in water utility operations or management.
• Strong knowledge of water distribution systems, wastewater management, mains, valves, hydrants, service connections, metering and backflow.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions regarding operations and maintenance.
• Preferred: A-Distribution certificate, Backflow & Cross-Connections Controls certification preferred, or ability to obtain in first year.
