Wastewater Project Manager
Position Overview
The Wastewater Project Manager will oversee and manage wastewater projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge in civil and construction management, with a focus on wastewater and wet utilities.
This role will start out based in Detroit, MI as we grow our wastewater department and then have the ability to relocate. Relocation assistance may be available.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of wastewater projects including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
- Develop project schedules and budgets, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding wastewater management.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Supervise project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful outcomes.
- Manage risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in wastewater or related projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of job order contracting and wet utilities management.
- Familiarity with sanitary sewer, wastewater treatment plants and water systems design and construction.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of underground utilities and water treatment processes is a preferred asset.
