Job Specific Responsibilities
Monitors the waste treatment system to ensure it is running properly throughout shift
Monitors the main treatment tanks (chrome reduction, cyanide destruct, Neut-1 and Neut-2
Responsible for ensuring that wastewater is within permitted discharge limits before releasing to the city
Operates the waste treatment system in compliance with permitted discharge limits
Uses the ICP-OES regularly to ensure Clarifier and EHT tanks are within our operating parameters
Ability to run/test/adjust batch-treatment system as a backup function
References and understands SOP's for the scope of work
Does not release wastewater without proper authorization
Record keeping by updating the Non-Hazardous/Hazardous Chemical Treatment Logs
Operates plate press to remove solids from the system
Continual focus on proper storage, isle spacing, organization, and labeling of all chemicals and hazardous waste in the facility making sure that containers are clean, sealed and that labels are readable
Proper shipping and receiving of chemical deliveries
Able to properly identify and safely transfer chemicals in containers to tanks for addition
Has trained as a "tank-Tender" and can perform tank dumps, remakes, and chemical additions as needed
Able to troubleshoot equipment operation and perform light maintenance on pumps, motors and piping as needed
Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions, and work well with others
Ability to operate and become certified to operate a forklift
Able to work while standing during your shift
Ability to safely use material handling equipment to move heavy items
Ability to wear required PPE which includes gloves, boots, eye protection and respirator
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and receive direction from others
Reliable transportation

Attention to detail
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with handling chemicals in an industrial setting a plus
Previous experience with wastewater treatment
Basic mechanical aptitude (fixing and maintaining pumps, plumbing knowledge)
Chemical handling experience in a production environment using corrosive and toxic materials
Background in wastewater treatment operations preferred
Good record keeping practices and following SOP's and other guidelines
Reports to: Lab Supervisor
Key Relationships: Plant Manager, EHS manager, WT Operators, Plant Supervisors, Lab Technician
Shift: Day Shift 6:00am to 2:30pm
Wage: $23.00 per hour
