The Warehouse Supervisor will lead day-to-day operations within our warehouse team. This role is responsible for supervising warehouse staff, managing daily schedules, overseeing timecards and time-off requests, and ensuring a consistent presence on the floor to support productivity and morale. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and capable of balancing team leadership with administrative and occasional data-focused projects.

Supervisor Responsibilities

Oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts.

Hires and trains new warehouse employees.

Coaches, develops and leads the team.

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Essential Job Duties

Management

Maintains a visible and active presence on the warehouse floor to monitor workflow, assist team members, and ensure safety and efficiency.

Collaborates with Warehouse Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Leads by example in all staff and customer dealings in person, on the phone, and in written communication.

Conducts regular staff touch bases to provide individual feedback, assignment status, goal review, and coaching. Uses company tools such as the GROW model or EPNs as needed to address sub-standard work performance.

Recognizes staff for superior customer service, goal accomplishment, or other satisfactory work performance.

Supports and adheres to company policies and procedures, especially those commonly challenged in the workplace such as dress code, attendance, professionalism, and productivity. Seeks supervisor and HR partnerships in addressing issues as needed. Approaches all employment matters with a solution oriented, professional, and legally compliant mindset.

General

Responsible for the order, organization, and cleanliness of the warehouse.

Responsible for maintaining locations as identified on the computer system for all items in the warehouse.

Ensures all shelves and product locations are accurately labeled in the appropriate physical location.

Ensures accurate and timely facility inspection is performed monthly.

Performs building maintenance duties as directed.

Communicates issues to assigned manager and corporate personnel as needed.

Performs branch walkthrough with corporate personnel as needed.

Supervisory

Manages daily staffing schedules to meet operational demands.

Oversees timecard approvals and ensures timely handling of time-off requests in accordance with company policies.

Adequately conducts training and educates warehouse staff.

Provides proper employee materials handling equipment and product handling procedures.

Develops backup support system for each position.

Partners with assigned manager to ensure appropriate staff coverage at the branch.

Regularly provides employee performance feedback to the assigned manager as well as on employee reviews.

Safety

Performs as a safety advocate for the branch.

Ensures safety policies and procedures are followed.

Reviews all inspection forms and communicates any issues.

Suggests operational improvements related to safety.

Immediately corrects unsafe conditions in the warehouse.

Immediately reports safety accidents, injuries, and incidence. Assists with the collection of safety data for accurate report completion

Ensures the cleanliness of the warehouse, proactively working with warehouse team to clean aisles to make sure the facility is safe and representable at all times

Receiving

Ensures incoming freight is handled efficiently and correctly.

Ensures standard operating procedures are being followed relating to Bills of Lading, Damage notations, and counts on incoming freight.

Follows company receiving procedures on communication of bill of lading exceptions including but not limited to damages and shortages.

Transfers

Ensures product transfers are handled properly and efficiently.

Ensures proper procedures are followed related to pulling / checking / loading and receiving.

Ensures all transfers are pulled the same day it is entered in the system and that transfers are received in the system the same day they are received at the branch.

Fleet / Material Handling Equipment

Ensures all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and operating in safe condition.

Ensures all vehicle service is performed at proper intervals.

Reports any damage, performance, and safety issues pertaining to vehicles or equipment to manager / corporate.

Daily Operations

Responsible for ensuring all lift equipment are inspected daily.

Ensures incoming freight is processed and put away

Ensures material handling equipment is plugged in for charging on a daily basis.

Ensures carts, hand trucks, forklifts and other equipment are secured proper locations at the end of the day.

Other

Safety Sensitive Position: the ability to perform job functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Participates in and occasionally leads data-related projects, such as tracking KPIs or analyzing workflow trends.

Maintains proficiency with company computer systems in aspects related to job, such as data entry, messaging, call logs, data notations, queue updates, batching, or other job & office functions and requirements.

Preferred Job Requirements

High School diploma or its GED equivalent and some college coursework in business, supply chain, or related field

3 or more years’ experience with warehousing, supply chain, and related functions.

Minimum Job Requirements

High School diploma or its GED equivalent

2 or more years’ experience with warehousing, supply chain, and related functions.

Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis.

Use computers, photocopiers, scanners, phone systems and meeting and virtual platform sharing relative to the needs of the job.

Physical Requirements

Minimum keyboarding skills of 40 words per minute.

Warehouse
