YOUR ROLE
Accountable for providing strategic business planning, leadership and direction for divisional logistics solutions. Responsible for providing solution-based leadership for developing and implementing regional as well as supporting global logistics initiatives focused on new business development for key strategic customers, including re-engineering business opportunities, systems, cost improvements and operational efficiencies that support the company's overall corporate objectives of unity, revenue growth and profitability and customer satisfaction through operational excellence. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, ISO guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
* Responsible for the P & L of the logistics operations and achievement of targeted levels of revenue/margin against new and existing business.
* Develop and manage budgets at or above targets for all areas of financial responsibility.
* Support the development of short, intermediate and long-term business development strategy for key customers.
* Develop relationships with and provide executive-level customer interface in support of strategic account planning and development.
* Provide consultation, guidance, leadership and strategic direction to executive management, sales and the logistics senior management team regarding the development and implementation of global logistics initiatives focused on new business development, re-engineered business opportunities, systems, cost improvements and operational efficiencies.
* Work corroboratively with business unit management, sales and staff to review new business and proposed re-engineered business operations and systems to analyze the feasibility of projects, critical success criteria, and develop ROI (return on investment) business justification studies.
* Provide consultation and over-site of projects from inception through delivery, ensuring completion of the project objectives on schedule and within budget constraints.
* Design and deploy customer-specific, engineered operational solutions, including both material handling and information technology components.
* Develop customer relationships and ensure that customer service and operational levels within global responsibilities are being maintained.
* Provide guidance in the development of KPI (Key Performance Indicators) metrics.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, ISO guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education / Experience
Minimum:
* Minimum 12 to 15 years related experience in a senior management role.
* Minimum ten years industry experience.
* Minimum ten years supervisory or managerial experience.
Preferred:
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and completion of the LDP Program.
Characteristics
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
* In-depth experience in financial management of a department, station or region (P & L, balance sheet, forecasting, and budgets) to effectuate return on investment.
* Experienced in directing and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, metrics, and regulatory compliance (both domestic and international).
* PC Literate. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific applications.
* Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Travel: Travel is required at least 40% of the time and is approximately 70% within the U.S. and 30% outside of the U.S.
