  1. Sound & clear understanding of key concepts / terminologies used in VMware virtualization platform e.g. HA, FT, DRS, SDRS, Rules, VLAN, VMDKs, Datastores, Clusters, Snapshots, Cloning, Host Profiles, Scalable Architectures etc.

(Note : DO NOT apply for this position if you cannot clearly articulate your knowledge & understanding about the foundational concepts / terminologies used in VMware)

  1. Experience with handling critical incidents by demonstrating linear & logical troubleshooting approach so that organizational SLA’s can be met.
  2. Hands-On experience with deployment, administration and troubleshooting of below :
  3. VMware ESXi 6.5 / 7.X
  4. VMware VCenter 6.5 / 7.X
  5. VMware vRealize Automation (vRA)
  6. VMware vRealize Operations (vROPS)
  7. VMware Horizon VDI
  8. VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
  9. Hands-On experience with Capacity (Cluster and Storage), Performance and License Management of VMware Infrastructure.
  10. Hands-On experience of deployment of above mentioned technologies of diverse Hardware Platforms – HP Blade / Standalone / C7000 Enclosure / Synergy, Dell, Nutanix etc. in Data Centers.
  11. Hands-On experience of patching and upgrading the versions of above mentioned technologies using VMware management tools e.g. VMware Update Manager.
  12. Knowledge of managing hardware related activities like Firmware / Network Card / HBA Card Upgrades, RAID Management, Array Controllers - using HP, Dell and Nutanix proprietary management tools e.g. HP OneView, HP ILO, Dell Open Manage, Dell iDRAC etc.
  13. Knowledge of using PowerCLI and PowerShell scripting technologies to perform day to day administrative activities.
  14. Experience of creating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Architecture, Audit & Compliance reports / documents in ITSM Tools e.g. JIRA / Confluence / SharePoint.
  15. Experience with IT Service Management tools e.g. JIRA for Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management.
  16. Experience of taking initiatives / leads on building / proposing solutions for automating redundant activities, optimizing & consolidating existing infrastructure.
  17. Should be able to support IT organization off hours / weekends during critical incidents / planned activities.
