Agilix Solutions currently has an opening for a Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) Associatein our Memphis, TN market. As the VMI Associate, you will become the customer’s first choice for the products and services they need to keep their workplaces safe, efficient, and functioning by leading the company’s efforts for assigned SupplyMaster Program (Agilix’s vendor managed inventory solution) engagements and on-site customer service activities. Build strong internal and external partnerships to facilitate success, which will allow Agilix to effectively extend our reach into our customer’s locations and provide superior service.
This role will report to the Industrial Supply Manager.
Responsibilities
- Understand market conditions and trends as well as customer requirements to provide appropriate direction and guidance to the broader organization.
- Ensure proper solutions and resources are being offered/deployed to customers.
- Partner with the sales team, providing expertise in VMI offerings to build a strategic plan that will enable sales team to meet or exceed incremental sales growth expectations to meet ROI for all VMI sites.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships and partner with the sales & branch teams to identify, analyze and address service opportunities.
- Serve as SupplyMaster Program (VMI) advocate by building a strong internal network with relevant Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain and Consulting business partners to ensure strategic alignment.
- Driving company owned vehicle to multiple customer sites daily.
- Customer site visits for customer owned inventory monitoring
- Counting and/or scanning customer inventory for order entry purposes
- Organizing customer owned inventory
- Collecting new product information from customers to update the Agilix storeroom database
- Order entry
- Order delivery on occasion
- Order stocking at customer - varies by customer
- Responsible for company vehicle maintenance/inspections
- Strategize with outside sales on target customers
- Participate in vendor trainings
- Partner with customer service with needed order expediting and customer issues
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Some college education desired)
- Minimum 3 years of retail, manufacturing, or industrial business experience with an understanding of inventory management desired.
- Familiarity with electrical, safety, or industrial distribution is a plus.
- Able to adapt to shifting demands and manage competing priorities from the customer and Agilix.
- Effective communicator. Capable of speaking in an effective and influential manner to all levels of our customers with the ability to communicate our value prop.
- Ideally, experience in establishing productive relationships with key individuals at assigned customers and providing supplemental service support for outside sales associates in the areas of conversions, ordering stock, vending solutions, putting away orders, 5S handling of service and equipment, and expediting
- Computer literate with experience using systems that support inventory management, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail with strong communication skills
- Ability to perform in a team or group environment
- Valid Class E/CDL with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing/being on your feet throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
