Summary

Job Responsibilities

The video production manager reports to the AVP of MarCom and supports divisons and departments across the college in work that drives enrollment and enhances communication among faculty, staff, students, and community partners. The person in this position will create high-quality media content to include, but not limited to photography, video, audio, which enhances and supports institutional goals such as student enrollment and brand recognition.

  • Plans and develops pre-production ideas into outlines, scripts, and graphics, following assignment specifications. Records and edits audio and video materials. Utilizes advanced production hardware and software. Develop and produce complex multimedia programming for delivery across technologically intensive platforms.
  • Manages and maintains equipment and hardware for media capturing and encoding. Uploads and posts videos on various platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, and other social media platforms for on-demand viewing.
  • Coordinates all aspects of media production including booking, production, and post-production. Manages production studios, recording and editing facilities, maintenance, and other related areas. Develops productions for cross platform use. Transcribes scripts or recordings for closed captioning.
  • Supervises videographers or photographers contracted by the college, work study students and other contractual employees.
  • Serves in an advisory capacity for the exploration of new multimedia and other innovative technologies. Works closely with college leaderships to identify needs and determine solutions.

This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Northeast Campus

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and experience in radio or television programming, production, or engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful candidates will be skilled in production techniques and be able to coordinate these techniques to meet the media production demands.

  • Skilled with in-studio and in-field production techniques for media production.
  • Skilled in planning and administering communications media programs and evaluating the technical quality of media materials.
  • Able to project audience needs and to develop programs aimed at meeting those needs.
  • Able to write, record, edit and produce
  • Knowledgeable of new media applications of broadcast programming and of cross platform content development.
