Summary

My client is a leading developer and operator of low-carbon energy projects is seeking a Vice President of Construction & Operations to lead the execution of utility-scale combined cycle and carbon capture power projects across the U.S.


This senior leadership role is critical to delivering high-performance energy infrastructure. Proven experience leading the construction of large-scale gas-fired combined cycle power plants is essential. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning—ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead EPC execution for combined cycle and carbon capture projects
  • Oversee construction, commissioning, and testing activities
  • Manage budgets, schedules, contractor performance, and safety compliance
  • Negotiate major equipment and EPC contracts
  • Standardize project management workflows and reporting
  • Build and mentor a high-performing construction and operations team
  • Report on project performance to senior leadership


Must-Have Qualifications

  • Extensive experience delivering combined cycle power plants
  • 15+ years in large-scale energy infrastructure, preferably with an IPP or EPC
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Strong grasp of construction contracts, budgets, and stakeholder management
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field
  • Willingness to travel as required
