The Vice President, Freight Forwarding Operations - U.S. is responsible for managing the Freight Forwarding operations in the United States and ensuring the highest level of services are delivered to internal and external customers, while creating a positive workplace culture. Operations will include management of freight forwarding branches covering Air and Ocean, Import and Export. As VP of Freight Forwarding Operations, the position will also manage the Customs Brokerage product and the Domestic Trucking function to support international freight forwarding. The Customer Service organization to ensure a superior customer experience will also report to this position. The VP of Freight Forwarding Operations will be expected to work closely with their counterpart in the organization who will be leading the Sales and Marketing functions.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and execute freight forwarding go-to-market products and services, including sea freight, airfreight, customs brokerage, cross-border road transport, compliance structures, DP networks, CFSs, and air consolidation hubs
• Design and implement strategic plans to optimize operational performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Monitor and ensure achievement of operational KPIs, financial targets, and timely MIS and financial reporting
• Oversee daily freight forwarding operations, ensuring effective processes and compliance with local, international, and industry regulations
• Lead integration efforts related to mergers and acquisitions within operations
• Foster a high-performance culture by providing strong leadership to inspire and motivate teams
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, service providers, trade bodies, and government agencies
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and service excellence
• Coordinate and execute regional/global procurement strategies, including inland logistics, depot management, and demurrage
• Manage end-to-end freight capacity planning, procurement, and network control at the country level.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans when operational or financial targets are not met
• Provide strategic leadership in product management, resource utilization, and pricing support for bids and RFQs
• Ensure workplace health, safety, and security standards are upheld in accordance with corporate policies
• Maintain strong interdepartmental collaboration to support cohesive business operations
• Oversee yield control, job profitability, and accurate job accounting practices
  
  

Qualifications, Experience And Skills

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the logistics industry, with a proven track record of success in a senior leadership role heading a broad range of Operations
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of logistics operations, compliance requirements and supply chain management
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage complex budgets, analyse financial data, and make data-driven decisions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams
• Proven experience in driving business growth, identifying new market opportunities, and building strategic partnerships
• A visionary mindset, with the ability to anticipate industry trends, adapt to changes, and implement innovative solutions
