The Meta Corporate Development team focuses on M&A, strategic opportunities and the development of our corporate strategy. This leader will manage the Corporate Development Deal team responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing public and private company acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, and other strategic initiatives.As the Head of the Deal team, you will lead high-impact Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) initiatives, driving projects of significant complexity and scale, collaborate with executive leadership to define corporate strategy, identify growth opportunities, and lead negotiations with potential partners and acquisition targets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer tech along with strong analytical and leadership skills.
Vice President, Corporate Development Responsibilities:
- Lead a high-impact team of deal professionals to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions
- Serve as a subject matter expert in all facets of M&A and related strategic transactions, from sourcing and evaluation to negotiation, execution, and integration
- Define M&A priorities across different product areas
- gather insights and develop analysis to facilitate decision-making at the executive level, aligned with the company's long-term goals. Be willing to challenge deals that are not aligned with strategic goals
- Drive key diligence and financial modeling on potential targets to ensure goals, synergies, and financial objectives will be met, as well as partner with Integration and Legal to ensure deal feasibility and success
- Manage negotiations for large, high-stakes M&A transactions, maintaining a balanced and objective approach. Utilize strong diplomacy, when necessary, while remaining steadfast in advocating for the best interests of the organization
- Develop and cultivate strong relationships with leaders across the organization, earning a reputation as a trusted advisor on both corporate development and broader strategic matters. Develop and maintain strong relationships within the technology industry including VCs, entrepreneurs, investment bankers, and other key stakeholders
- Identify and educate executives on new, innovative technology trends and markets, and recommend high-potential acquisitions and investments
- Shape the vision, strategic direction, and goals of the Corporate Development team. Contribute to the development of tools, best practices, processes, and training initiatives that drive operational excellence
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years experience in a mix of venture capital, consulting, investment banking, strategy or corporate development roles in the technology industry
- 7+ years of Corporate Development deal experience
- Experience managing and mentoring teams of Corporate Development professionals
- Proven technology industry experience with an acumen to engage with product and engineering leaders on tech roadmaps
- Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, fluency in performing rigorous financial, valuation and other quantitative analyses
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including with C-level executives
- Proven relationships in the technology industry and community
