Job Description Summary: The Vice President, Compliance Business Partner is a key leader on the Compliance team and serves as the main point of contact between the Compliance team and the business teams, including the Commercial, Purchasing and Business Development, Revenue Cycle Management, Ambulatory Infusion Center, Naven Health and acquired business teams. This role is responsible for helping the business teams understand and follow Company policies, regulatory requirements, and our compliance program. The Vice President provides expert guidance on strategic initiatives, day-to-day operations, and leads the monitoring and assessment of changes in the regulatory landscape, with a strong focus on preventing, detecting, and addressing fraud, waste and abuse (FWA). This leader promotes a culture of integrity and accountability and ensures compliance risks are proactively identified and addressed. This position reports to the SVP, Chief Compliance Officer. Job Description: Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent) Act as a trusted advisor to our business teams providing strategic guidance and support on compliance-related matters, including regulatory and policy requirements, potential issue spotting, and implementation of processes, controls, and risk mitigation activities. Propose innovative solutions to achieve business objectives, enabling risk-based decision-making within ethical boundaries and optimizing business performance. Serves as a subject matter expert in health care compliance including, but not limited to FWA, Medicare & Medicaid billing requirements, and interactions with healthcare professionals. Lead or support risk assessments of business activities, identifying potential compliance risks and recommending mitigation strategies. Partner with our business teams to integrate compliance considerations into strategic planning, decision- making processes, and new business initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate values and objectives. Lead the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the needs of the business teams. Collaborate across all functions including Operations, Market Access, Internal Audit, Legal, Clinical & Quality, Human Resources and Finance and others as required. Serve as a liaison between the Compliance Department and business teams, facilitating communication coordination, and collaboration on compliance-related initiatives and projects. Act as an ambassador to promote the Compliance brand and engagement of team members across the organization. Support our continuous improvement mindset for Option Care's compliance program by sharing business insights and examples of compliance-in-action with the Compliance team, recommending program enhancements and leading the implementation of certain program updates. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure integration of appropriate policy into the development of programs, including oversight and/or review and approval of programs and processes with our business teams and other functions. Collaborate with Compliance Operations on healthcare professional engagement process, Corporate Integrity Agreement requirements, internal investigations, policy updates, exceptions approval, training, monitoring and auditing activities, and implementation of corrective actions. Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting healthcare compliance, and proactively advise stakeholders on emerging issues and potential impacts. Follows and educates on our external regulatory landscape including OIG Guidance, corporate compliance program guidance, special fraud alerts, etc. and drives policy enhancements to align with our regulatory environment. Identify opportunities for education and deliver compliance training to new and existing employees in partnership with the Compliance Operations Team. Supports the Compliance Officer with M&A compliance activities including, but not limited to, due diligence activities, risk assessment and mitigation plans, and integration management. (i.e., hiring, recommending/approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, etc.) No Yes X Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements 12+ years of healthcare, pharmaceutical or other compliance experience including compliance business partnership, monitoring, auditing and/or investigations. Proven experience in a leadership role of a compliance function in the healthcare industry, with a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid requirements. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Basic Qualifications Knowledge of and experience with laws, regulations and industry guidance that affect the health care industry including OIG and PhRMA guidelines. Strong project and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and develop process efficiencies where required. Able to work independently and know when to appropriately escalate an issue for resolution. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals up, down, and across the organization. Demonstrated leadership skills, including ability to lead change management efforts through effective cross functional communication and persuasion. Experience participating in ongoing risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities within the organization, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement mitigations. Leverage and provide ongoing direction, oversight, coaching and development to shared Compliance staff and foster a team culture of inclusion, connectivity and professional growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify and communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly, build relationships, and influence stakeholders. Physical Demand Requirements Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time. Travel Requirements: (if required) Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs) In-house experience in a corporate compliance program at a publicly traded company. Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below: Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
