Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to perform detailed quantity take-offs.
  • Develop accurate project cost estimates and solicit subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Prepare, assemble, and submit professional bid packages for both public and private sector projects.
  • Assist with value engineering, project budgeting, and preliminary project scheduling.
  • Support project execution and coordination efforts during preconstruction and early construction phases.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all estimates, pricing, and bid submissions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and transitions.
  • Scheduling and manage scheduling of all estimates

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial or institutional vertical construction estimating, is highly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and local pricing trends.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar.
  • Strong organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism in client and subcontractor interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience estimating public sector (government/federal) vertical construction projects.
  • Exposure to project management practices and software.
  • OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • 4 Year Bachelor Degree in relation to the construction field.
