Kforce's notable Northern California client is looking for a Vendor Management (VMO) Program Manager. This role will be hybrid, 1 day a week Wednesday in Oakland, CA. This is a 6-month contract to start with probable extensions.
Summary:
This role requires expertise in creating executive-level presentations, focusing on vendor performance, scorecards, and key insights to support decision-making within the vendor management organization.
Day to Day:
* Lead and manage multiple IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk management plans
* Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met
* Track project deliverables, lead meetings, issue meeting minutes and perform follow ups
* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
* Track and report on financial performance of projects, including variance analysis and forecasting
* Develop and implement a comprehensive Vendor Management strategy and framework, aligning with organizational goals and industry best practices
* Create and maintain a centralized database of vendor information, including contracts, performance data, and contact details
* Work collaboratively with IT operations, Sourcing and legal teams to represent IT as a single entity with external vendors* 5+ years of experience in IT vendor management - specifically, managing a vendor management office and VMO program
* Proven experience in creating compelling PowerPoint presentations for executive audiences (with work samples)
* Executive presence, strong presentation skills capable of leading discussions with executives while explaining business concepts in a simplified way
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
* Proficient in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP, Agile, MS Project) is a plus
