Brief Description

Nextant is looking for our next UX Designer 3 to join our client team. As a UX & UI Designer, you will work closely with your fellow designers as well as our product, engineering, and art teams to design wireframes, user flows, UI components, and interactive prototypes to explore different layouts and interaction patterns. You’ll also create stylistically consistent, visually compelling, and functional user interfaces that envelop an intuitive, delightful gameplay experience. Your designs will be user-centric, data-driven, and aligned with design best practices. You will also be responsible for producing final, high-quality UI designs and assets in Figma.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Wireframing & User Flows: Develop wireframes, user flows, and interaction diagrams to explore various design options for game interfaces across PC, web, and mobile platforms.
  • UI Design: Design and deliver high-quality UI assets and components using Figma, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and alignment with the overall game aesthetic.
  • Collaboration: Present design concepts and solutions to the team, incorporating feedback and iterating on designs to improve usability and player experience.
  • User-Centered Design: Make design decisions driven by user research, data analytics, and usability testing, ensuring that player needs and preferences are prioritized.
  • Cross-Platform Consistency: Ensure the design is consistent and adaptable across different platforms (PC, web, and mobile) while maintaining the integrity of the user experience.
  • Prototyping & Interaction Design: Create interactive prototypes in Figma to communicate complex interaction patterns and design concepts effectively.
  • User Research: Participate in user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to gain insights that drive iterative improvements to the user experience.
  • Design Best Practices: Follow and advocate for design best practices, staying up to date with the latest trends and tools in the UX/UI and gaming industry.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years overall experience in the field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Figma.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with user-centric design philosophy.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with stakeholder management.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, including wireframes, user flows, UI design, and interaction design.
  • Proficiency in Figma, with experience in designing and creating UI components and assets for different screen sizes and devices (PC, mobile, web).
  • Experience designing for multiple platforms, ensuring consistency and adaptability of designs across different screen sizes and interfaces.
  • Familiarity with user research methods (e.g., user testing, surveys, data analysis) and the ability to apply findings to improve design decisions.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and design systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate design concepts clearly to team members.
  • A passion for gaming and an understanding of how design impacts the overall player experience.
  • Experience with accessibility standards and designing for inclusivity in gaming.
  • Disqualifiers: Candidates lacking proficiency in Figma will not be eligible for the role.
  • Best vs Average: The ideal resume would contain a strong skill set, design thinking, creativity in exploration, and understanding of user-centered design.

This is a fully remote position.

Pay Rate:

The annual salary range for this position is $97,000 - $107,000 in Washington State. Please note that the salary range is a general guideline. Nextant considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills, and other market and business considerations when extending an offer.
