DESCRIPTION
The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is looking for an experienced manager to lead a team of UX Designers (UXDs) to design new tech tools and improve upon existing systems. GREF is responsible for Amazon's corporate office portfolio, creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazon's corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon. Within GREF, the UXD team designs all tooling for internal GREF employees and digital experiences for Amazonians.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead end-to-end UX design for GREF. With your team, you will drive UX design standards, collaborate cross-functionally with UX Research, Product, Software, and Business partners to deliver customer obsessed design specifications for planned products. This high visibility role will impact the success of the GREF organization and directly impact business partners across the company. The position requires strong customer centric strategic planning, analytical skills, problem solving, and excellent communication skills.
The ideal candidate will lead with curiosity and work collaboratively to design new, simple tools that solve problems across complex systems and delight customers with ease of use. They will dive deep into the overall real estate planning process and Amazon workplace experience to understand customer needs. As they stand up a new UX Design team, they will create mechanisms to increase collaboration across design, product, and tech partners. A track record of delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment is a must. Being self-driven, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities is a key to success. This role is a great fit for someone who is sensitive to the diverse perspectives of stakeholders and works with them to resolve differences.
Key job responsibilities
* Set vision for Amazon's UX design across space planning and digital workplace experiences
* Manage and develop team of UX designers to execute on product vision
* Work collaboratively with Engineering, Product, and UX research on product definition and features implementation
* Insist on highest standards of interface designs and defend in reviews both internally and externally with stakeholders in product/engineering leadership
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 6+ years of design experience
* 3+ years of leading design teams experience
* Experience managing teams
* Bachelor's degree
* Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A comprehensive online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating past experience of shipped work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience working cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from product management, engineering, testing, and marketing
* Experience leading design teams in problem definition, artifact rendering, cross-functional collaboration and delivery, and user validation and measurement
* Experience designing software for end users or enterprise customers
* Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
