Canyon Ridge Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and talented Utilization Review Specialist to join our team.

Canyon Ridge Hospital has serviced the Greater Inland Empire since 1989. Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for proactively monitoring utilization of continuum services and optimizing reimbursement for CRH. Acts as resource person dealing with insurance companies and review groups. Maintains good working relationship and communication with Nursing, Assessment Department, Business Office, Medical Records, and Social Services. Is a resource to CRH personnel, Administration, and professional staff in regards to all review activity.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Bachelor’s Level Degree in nursing, social work, psychology, health information management or other healthcare related field is preferred or related experience
Eexperience in psychiatric setting preferred; high school-preferably college, level reading, writing, and math skills; excellent telephone usage skills and strong verbal skills
Knowledge of health care delivery systems and third party reimbursement
Knowledge of managed care environment; ability to apply and interpret admission and continued stay criteria;
understanding of admission and discharge function
Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnostic terms and treatment modalities
