Utilities Systems Repairer Operator Duties You will adjust and regulate water and sewage systems to maintain maximum operating efficiency. You will collect samples and perform basic tests on water and wastewater for quality control and compliance determination. You will control flow rate to suit conditions, rate of flow, concentration, and type of influent. You will use test equipment and measuring services (e.g., micrometers, precision levels, flow meter, hydrostatic testers) to perform work assignments. You must possess a state of California Grade D2 Water Distribution license. You must obtain an in house lab certification for sampling and testing. You must enroll in educational prerequisites for the Grade 2 Waste Water License. You must enroll in the state sponsored Operator in Training program (min 2000 hours). You must possess a state of California T1 Water Treatment License. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
