Owners Engineer

15+ Month Contract

Overview:

To assist with Capital work, one of the largest utilities nationally and in the state of Michigan is seeking an Owners Engineer to provide technical expertise and oversight throughout a project's lifecycle. Requirements:

• 8+ years of Utility Engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field
• Design experience with Low Voltage equipment including, Substation, Overhead (OH), Underground
• Quality assurance experience to ensure project meets quality standards and adheres to relevant codes and regulations
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and project management methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions
• Experience working with tools such as Excel, ESRI, CYME, or MicroStation

Responsibilities:

• Lead meetings with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and construction teams. Meeting topics include but not limited to: Defining scope of work, outlining budgets, schedule changes, and general status updates
• Join Project Managers on their meetings and act as the technical expertise to field questions
• Make recommendations for continuous improvement efforts
• Ensure that designs align to the scope and make recommendations for changes as necessary
• Provide technical updates to project managers
• Mentor associate level engineers
• Join field walkdowns with Project team
