Summary

Job Title: UI/UX Designer/Developer

Function: Digital System & Information Technology (DS&IT)

Department: Data Intelligence & Analytics

Section: Business Solutions

Reporting to: Section Head – Business Solutions


Role Objective

The incumbent will work closely with stakeholders to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces while ensuring a seamless user experience across digital products.


Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand user requirements and translate them into engaging user interfaces.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and insights for iterative design improvements.
  • Develop user personas, user flows, and journey maps to inform design decisions and enhance the overall user experience.
  • Design and maintain a consistent visual language, including style guides, iconography, and typography, to ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UI/UX design.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion the importance of user experience.


Key Interactions

  • Internal: CDIO, DS&IT department, Strategy team, Business Units & Section Heads, Bank Subsidiaries, Overseas Branches, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Others.
  • External: Regulatory Bodies (as needed), Service Providers/Vendors, External Auditors, Customers/Customer’s Technical Contact Points, Business Partners & Alliances, Others.


Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.


Experience:

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX designer, with a strong portfolio highlighting design skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.
  • Solid understanding of user interface design principles, interaction design, and usability testing methodologies.
  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Technical Competencies:

  • User Research: Understanding user needs and behaviors through various research methods.
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Creating low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes to visualize and test design concepts.
  • Visual Design: Crafting visually appealing interfaces that align with branding and user expectations.
  • Interaction Design: Designing intuitive and seamless user interactions within the interface.
  • Information Architecture: Organizing and structuring content in a clear and logical manner.
  • Usability Testing: Conducting tests to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of designs.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with stakeholders, developers, and other team members to ensure designs meet project goals.
  • Problem-solving: Identifying and solving design challenges to create optimal user experiences.
  • Adaptability: Being able to adapt to new technologies, design trends, and project requirements.
  • Communication: Effectively communicating design concepts, rationale, and decisions to various stakeholders.


Industry Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of industry trends.
  • Knowledge of local/international best practices/standards.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of banking industry, banking operations, processes, products/services, and associated technologies.


Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications preferred.
