Summary

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in UNIX/Linux environments. This role includes system deployment, configuration, cybersecurity compliance, performance tuning, customer support, and program oversight for global mission-critical IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, configure, and maintain UNIX/Linux (Red Hat, Solaris, HP-UX) systems across virtual and standalone environments.
  • Implement system upgrades, security patches, and STIG-compliant configurations in accordance with DLA policies.
  • Manage user/system accounts using Red Hat Identity Manager (IDM) and support ACAS scanning and vulnerability remediation.
  • Install and support COTS applications (e.g., Splunk, HBSS, ArcSight) and monitor performance, logs, and alerts.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving system performance, integrity, and security for both NIPRnet and SIPRnet environments.
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support and maintain CRM, SLA, MOU/MOA, and escalation documentation across CONUS/OCONUS.
  • Support RMF/DIACAP security assessments, accreditation readiness, and compliance with DoD, NIST, and DLA cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Assist in planning, executing, and closing out IT infrastructure projects, including briefings and documentation deliverables.
  • Conduct technical reviews and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support transitions or consolidations.
  • Ensure change management compliance, and maintain system audit trails, incident reports, and IAVM responses.
  • Participate in the development of enterprise tools and benchmarking templates to support infrastructure planning.
  • Conduct IA Control Validation (IACV) reviews, audit trail evaluations, and vulnerability scans on a recurring basis.

Minimum Qualifications (Must Have):

Experience:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive systems administration experience on UNIX operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Solaris, or HP-UX.
  • Relevant RHCSA or CompTIA Linux+ certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.

Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret.
