Unix/Linux System Administrator

You will work in a hybrid work arrangement set-up, directly hired by/contracted by a product company, and you are based in Timisoara or Cluj-Napoca cities.

OBJECTIVES

o Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware

o Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative

o Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage in a global marketplace

o Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights

o Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running

o   Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements

Periodically:

o Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly

o Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed

o Maintain  internal  infrastructure  requirements  including  laptop  and  desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments

o Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed

o Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups

EXPERIENCE

Must have:

✓ English job-related spoken and written is mandatory

✓ Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science

✓ Proven experience as a Linux/Unix System Administrator (ideally 5 years, min. 3 years)

✓ Experience with virtualization with at least one of the technologies VMware, XenServer, KVM, XCP-NG, docker, Kubernetes

✓ Experience with SQL databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL (install db, set-up replications, binary logs, troubleshooting, etc.)

✓ Knowledge of automation and configuration tools like Ansible, git

Have:

✓ Knowledge of installing and troubleshooting hardware (replace CPU, memory, etc) - advantage

✓ Experience with java applications servers (tomcat/jboss) - advantage

✓ Cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure) – advantage

✓ You are familiar with Network topologies and TCP/IP protocols - basics

✓ Basic experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, Exchange, Azure

AD, Office 365, PowerShel - nice to have
